Frequently Asked Questions

What is the need for an Indian Masjid/Community Centre?
  • Strengthens community and brotherhood
  • Connects members with cultural heritage, language, and food
  • Provides 24/7 support to newcomers and students
  • Acts as a platform for community guidance and counselling
  • Mitigates language barriers through social gatherings
  • A one-time investment for future generations
Why can't we continue to hold monthly meetings at partner Masjids?
  • Each Masjid has its own activities and requires its own space
  • Limited space availability restricts our community gatherings
  • We need a dedicated space for more Indian-based cultural activities and group events
Why can't a place be rented out?
  • Renting will continuously increase our budget deficit
  • Rental costs increase annually, creating unsustainable expenses
Are there no other cheaper options available?
  • We are actively striving for the best options available that meet our community's long-term needs
Why are we so much interested in this particular property?
  • The property is already allocated and registered as a Masjid/community centre
  • It meets all our requirements with separate prayer halls, community spaces, kitchen, and lodging
  • Scope to add an extra floor for future expansion
Is it really worth shelling out €2 million?
  • This is a Sadaqah Jariyah (perpetual charity) whose benefits and rewards can be reaped for eternity
  • The collected amount will be used by our Bosnian brothers to purchase a bigger place for themselves, thereby multiplying the reward for this noble cause
Earlier you mentioned we need €500,000; now you say €2 million?
  • The total amount needed is €2 million, which we plan to collect in instalments
  • Currently, the immediate need is €500,000 to seal the deal with the sellers
Will I be approached often for funds?
  • Sadaqah and religious investments continue like Zakat and Qurbani
  • We will collect funds in instalments, with our aim being not to burden anyone
  • Fundraising will continue until 2028
  • We pray that Allah grants you increased blessings in your savings
What if this property is sold to someone else in the meantime?
  • Our fundraising and campaigns will continue regardless
  • Your contributions and investments will be kept safe and used exclusively to establish a community centre
  • If this property is not available, Allah will open other doors for us, God willing (Inshallah)
How do you plan to collect such a huge amount?
  • Approaching brothers within our community and beyond
  • Running campaigns that reach out internationally
  • Our community is growing daily, expanding our donor base
  • We continue discussions with involved brothers to set realistic goals
  • Allah records all our efforts; we must do our best and take steps forward with faith
Can't we just take a bank loan?
  • While we could take a bank loan, we would have to pay monthly installments to the bank
  • We also need to demonstrate our capacity to raise regular contributions to service this debt, making community donations essential
What about expenses? This seems to be a huge property.
  • As an established Masjid, we expect ongoing contributions during gatherings such as Friday prayers
  • The community centre can be rented for Islamic events (weddings, Aqiqah ceremonies, etc.)
  • The top floor can serve as lodging for students or newcomers, generating additional income
Can I continue praying at my nearby Masjid instead of this new community centre?
  • This centre will serve as a hub for Indian Muslims to connect with cultural traditions and support
  • Of course, you can continue praying at your nearby Masjid
  • Some Berlin Masjids have 2-3 congregations during Friday prayers to accommodate the growing Muslim population
  • This Indian Masjid will be an addition to the same diversity, not a replacement
Why are the Bosnian brothers selling their Masjid?
  • Their community is growing, and the current property is no longer sufficient for their needs
  • By purchasing this Masjid, we are ensuring it continues to serve as a place of worship rather than being sold for secular purposes
  • By contributing to our fundraising campaign, you are indirectly helping our Bosnian brothers move to a bigger Masjid that better serves their community
Can collections be done locally from India through Cash/UPI transfers?
  • Yes — responsible volunteers can collect donations from India via cash or UPI transfers
  • These collections will be reported to us, and the Shura committee will then inform next steps for fund transfers to the main campaign
How do we know how much has been already collected?
  • Collection progress will be updated on our website for transparency and accountability
Is there a grace period, or must we stick to the stipulated timeline?
  • We are working with instalments to make agreements with the sellers and establish a formal contract
  • Without reaching the agreed-upon amount, we cannot proceed with the acquisition
Can contributions be made through shareholding?
  • Yes — the Shura committee will decide on the structure and details of shareholding contributions
Can I contribute as Karz-e-Hasnah ?
  • The Shura committee will decide on the structure and details of contributions through Karz-e-Hasnah
Can donations be accepted from other Muslim communities ?
  • Yes — donations from other Muslim communities are welcome
  • Please note that this donation is not considered Zakat-eligible, as Zakat has specific religious requirements regarding its use and recipient communities
Can we pay Zakat amount for this project?
  • No — only Sadqa amount can be paid for this project
